Valentine Mini-Session | South Carolina Children Photographer

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure to take photos of sweet Ms. A, this was the second time that I've had this pleasure.  The last time that I photographed her she started out being shy but started to open up after being around me for a little, however this time she wasn't shy at all.  I love listening to the things that kids tell you and I loved hearing every single thing/story she told me that day.  She is such a little sweetie and a joy to be around.  Here are some pictures from her valentine mini-session.

And for fun, here is one from her previous session that we had, a few years ago, my how she has grown.

Cherish the moments, for they may be gone too soon | South Carolina Family Photographer

As I am sitting here looking through pictures from part of a recent newborn session and looking through the images that I was able to capture for the family of a grandfather/great-grandfather/great-great grandfather seeing the newest member of the family for the first time, I realize just how precious life is and how we should all cherish every single moment that you have with your loved ones.

When I found out that baby M had made his arrival into the world I was excited to meet him.  So during the first part of his newborn session, in talking with the family, I found out about their mom's grandfather and how sick he actually is.  As they were sitting there talking to me about it, I realized then that I needed to get some pictures for them, of him and the newest family member.  I was so excited when I started talking about getting the pictures and finding out that they actually was hoping that I would.  (which I'm sure they probably already knew deep down that I would :-)  )

I am happy to finally blog the pictures that we were able to capture during that special time for them.  I will have to admit that Mr. Buckshot had me in tears during taking the pictures.

Janice, Dana, and Brittany thank you for trusting in me to get such sweet memorable moments for you guys.

This is the first time he saw baby M and got to hold him.  Mr. Buckshot was beyond proud and excited to finally meet baby M.

Melts my heart.

Winter Session | South Carolina Children Photographer

I now have another new favorite location for pictures.  There are so many opportunities for great pictures at this location.  Here are some pictures from a winter photo session.  I always love taking pictures of Mr. Parker.  I have really enjoyed watching him grow over the past  year and half (getting close to 2 years now).

Hope you all enjoy!

This just happens to be one of my favorites from the session.  Every time I see this one it puts a big smile on my face.

Waiting for Baby M! | South Carolina Maternity Photographer

In January I had the pleasure of doing photos for my sweet cousin who was awaiting the arrival of her first baby and who was so excited to welcome a baby girl in the following weeks.  When I got the message that their sweet baby had made the arrival, I was shocked to find out instead of a baby girl they received a baby boy.

Here are some photos from their maternity session.  Photos of sweet baby M will be coming soon to the blog (so stay tuned).

Just when they were thinking it's going to be a girl.

Toddler Football Session | South Carolina Toddler Photographer

In going through folders from last years sessions I found that there are just a few that I didn't get around to blogging about.  So I wanted to go ahead and get those sessions blogged.

This past fall/winter I did a toddler football session.  I was excited to go back to my alma mater, and was excited for the chance to do the session on the football field.  We had so much fun out on the field and letting him play around the field.  Here are a few pictures from their session.

The Olivia Act | NC and SC Family Photographer

As you all are aware of by now of the tragic events that took place last Friday in Newtown, CT, there was a sweet angel named Olivia Engel who was one of the victims. As a parent myself, I cannot imagine the magnitude of grief that these families must be feeling at this time.  Olivia's family had recently had a professional photo session, and I am sure those pictures will be cherished memories they have of her forever.  A fellow photographer has started a movement in the photography community to challenge all fellow photographers to give back, and I am so happy to say that Amanda Benton Photography will be a part of this movement.

Here is a little information as to the movement that I am speaking about, The Olivia Act, named after one of the sweet, precious children taken away from this world so tragically in Newtown, Ct., was started by a photographer who wishes to remain anonymous. Upon hearing this, this photographer was moved to give away a 30 minute family photo shoot and has challenged other photographers to do the same.  We go about our daily lives and sometimes we don’t take the time or have the resources to have family photos taken, I myself am guilty of doing so.

Do you know a special family that would benefit from this?  If so, I will be taking nominations until January 1, 2013 for a session that will be held after the New Year for this family.  Please email their name, contact information and a brief summary of why you chose them to: amandabentonphotography@carolina.rr.com and put "THE OLIVIA ACT NOMINATION" in the subject line. The chosen family will be contacted via email, so please include their contact information with the nomination. Please do not post their information here or on my Facebook page. The gift that I will be giving to this family will be a 30 minute session and CD of digital portraits, so they may have priceless keepsakes.  This is a no questions asked, no money exchanged, no business promotions or gimmicks session.  This is all done in the memory of all the sweet angels who lost their lives that Friday, and in celebration of families and children everywhere; this is a way that I can use the talent that God has blessed me with to give back to the community.

Additionally, If you have a child that has a special teacher that you would like to nominate, please consider nominating them as well. I will also be choosing a special teacher to receive a free session, along with the special family.

Please share this with your friends and family. Thank you. ♥

Photographers, please consider taking part in this wonderful movement.

Please send all nominations to: amandabentonphotography@carolina.rr.com
